JOY

Joy is not a feeling.

It is an abiding sense that God will cause everything to turn around for the good because He promises He does for those that love Him wholeheartedly. Joy is not fleeting. It can be increased and diminished to degrees, but need never leave because of God’s love, faithfulness and grace. Praise to the Most High who causes joy to rise and saturate our hearts and thoughts. Joy can remain steady and strong when God is first in our lives.

He alone is the ultimate Joy-Bringer. Happiness can depend on circumstances, but joy is a steady stream with God. He brings joy and keeps us in joy as we look to Him. The joy is abiding joy because He abides in us and He has overcome the world and all things that will ever come against us in life. In Him we overcome.

Hope was His as He carried the cross to Golgotha in thinking, meditating and praying about the souls that would be saved. He thought about us – that we would be snatched from an eternity without Him. The joy that we would be one with Him, the Father and Holy Spirit, carried Him through in the midst of intense agony. This was the joy set before Him. Such radical love carried Him through.

While innocent and sinless, He was born only die for our sins. This joy is ours because of Him and it abides. He will never leave us or forsake us and all things are under His feet. We have hope for all things in and through Him, the Love of our lives.

Joy is our great privilege and it abides because of our King.
